The Senate panel that oversees transportation spending is proposing new programs to fund more climate-resilient infrastructure and safe streets in fiscal 2022.

The Senate Transportation-Housing and Urban Development appropriations bill, unveiled Monday, would provide $82.9 billion in overall discretionary budget authority across several agencies, an $8.3 billion boost over fiscal 2021. The bill would provide the Department of Transportation with $29.1 billion in discretionary spending.
